How to use The Locker
Your music, video and photos in one calm place, kept in your own Google Drive.
1
Sign in with Google
Open your invite link and tap Continue with Google. Pick the Google account you want to use and leave the Drive box ticked.
The Locker makes a folder called “The Locker” in your Google Drive and keeps everything there. It can only see files it put there, nothing else in your Drive.
2
Upload anything
- Drag files or whole folders onto the window, or tap +.
- Uploads run in the tray at the bottom while you keep browsing.
- Same name twice? The new one gets “(1)” so nothing is overwritten.
- Make folders with + › New folder, and drag files onto a folder to move them.
3
Play and preview
- Music plays in the bar at the bottom and keeps going while you browse. Tap it for Now Playing.
- Versions: “Song (Mix 7)” and “Song (Mix 8)” show as chips. Switch between them without losing your place.
- Loop marks an A–B section to repeat. Drag its edges to change it.
- Video opens full screen. Photos open in a viewer with a filmstrip; swipe or use the arrow keys.
- Photo folders show as a gallery. Switch with the buttons by the folder name.
4
Share a file or folder
Select a file or folder and turn on Share in its details. Anyone with the link can open it without an account: a shared folder can be browsed, its music played, and everything downloaded as one zip.
- Locker link (the default) can expire, be play-only, hide subfolders, or need a password.
- Google Drive link opens in Drive instead, for people who prefer it.
Turn the switch off and the link stops working. Everything you’ve shared is under Shared links.
Good to know
- Search finds files anywhere in your locker. Case, accents and apostrophes don’t matter.
- Favorite files and folders to keep them in the sidebar. Drag them into your own order.
- Accept uploads on a folder gives you a link anyone can use to send you files.
- People on a folder adds teammates; it shows up in their Shared with me.
- Trash keeps things for 30 days. Moving to Trash can be undone from the message that pops up.
- Renaming saves as you type.
- On a computer: Space or Enter opens, Delete moves to Trash, ⌘/Shift-click selects several.
- On iPhone: Share › Add to Home Screen makes it an app.
- Your files are ordinary files in your Google Drive, so they count toward your Drive storage and you can always get to them there.
